Dr Erin Beal
Chestnut Psychology is a clinical psychology and neuropsychology practice based in Sheffield and the West of Ireland, founded and led by Dr Erin M. Beal, an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with specialist training in neuropsychology. We work with adults experiencing cognitive, emotional and psychological difficulties - including people living with acquired brain injury, stroke and other neurological conditions, as well as autistic and ADHD adults seeking understanding and support.
Our work is evidence-based and neurodiversity-affirming. We seek to understand the whole person and their context - not simply to apply a label.
Alongside Dr Beal, our associate psychologists bring years of clinical experience and a strong academic foundation in neuropsychology, trauma and psychological science. Whether through assessment, rehabilitation or therapy, every piece of work is delivered in a space that is inclusive, respectful and empowering.
Dr Erin M. Beal is an HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist.

Therapy is grounded in approaches with a strong evidence base - including CBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) - within an integrative clinical-psychology framework.
All work is completed in accordance with NICE guidance and national best-practice standards.
We practise from a neuroaffirmative, trauma-informed framework. Neurodivergence is not something to be "treated" or "cured" - our role is to understand and validate identity. This runs right through our autism and ADHD assessments and, just as importantly, into the post-diagnostic support that follows: helping you make sense of a diagnosis, access the right adjustments and build on your strengths.
